General Info

  •  Gram Positive
  • Aerobic, meaning that it requires oxygen. This makes sense since it is naturally found in the ground
  • Like all others of the genus Bacillus, they can produce endospores
  • Full scientific name classification is Eubacteria Firmicuutes Bacilli Bacillales Bacillaceae Bacillus thuringiensis
  •  This bacteria is killed by extreme tempatures
  •  Also sun deactivates it so spraying is encouraged during nighttime
  • The spray version is not a permenant solution, but used when there are too many pests
  • Bacteria is either sprayed onto crops, or bred into the them, using the process of genetic engineering
  • Alternate names are Thuricide and Bt
  • Rod shaped
  • There is no affect if Bacteria is lost in the enviroment
